Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. Hopeless, hopeless, hopeless situation. It's getting a bit scary now too.
A boy that I used to know from when i was in year 7-12 (highschool, in american schooling that would mean your Junior High - through to High school, we don't have junior schools and senior school's, they are combined) had his heart set on being a solider. That was all his ambition. Was to be in the army. I never understood it. Maybe he didn't full understand either. But by the time he turned 18 and finished high school (still such a baby, so young) he was in the Artilary division of the Army.
Around that time or probably 1-2 years later, he was sent off to East Timor. The poor bastard saw so much human miserary and absoulte bloody horrific searny, he came back almost a different person. Quite, reserved, vacant.
He opened up to a mate of mine one night, and burst into tears. He was bearly 20 with a heavy alcholo consumtion problem, continually had nightmares, waking up in cold sweats, could bearly sleep, was continually depressed.
Unfortunately, I lost contact with him. I would go to ring him after he returned, but i didn't know what to say, he sort of wanted to be left alone. I never forget my poor bastard army loving friend. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. Hopeless, hopeless, hopeless situation. It's getting a bit scary now too.

| i believe that it is necessary to get rid of saddam, but i also believe that bush is doing it too quickly, and not correctly. Bombing the country will only put civilians at risk, not saddam, with more planning and essential explainations to the public/us since we are sacrificing our lives for him, it would take a less toll on our economy and gain a little more support that would otherwise not exist. Although many people are using the excuse that we should take a hint from other countries that are not in favor of our attack, we most also realize that many of those countries have corporate/financial ties with that area, so of course they don't want to be at risk. |
