Just reading over these timelines, one thing that effect me is the numbers of people, civilians, children have died and continue dying.
4 million civilians in Southeast Asia. On a personal level, that was a war that our fathers, our uncles, in most cases were FORCED to fight or they'd be thrown in prisons.

If you look at it. If the Japanese did not bomb pearl harbor No one would have stopped Hitler and the Axis powers. Japan did not control the pacific? they only had fortifications on the islands of Guam, wake Island and those other small pacific islands which now fall under freach/english/us and I forget what other countries territories.
