| You can learn a lot from different cultures. But the truth is that americans don't have easy access to such things because we don't live about a 15 hour train ride to the next country where everything is different. So I kinda understand when a european says dumb american because they're used to us coming over there and not knowing. But you have to realise that we didn't grow up near another country with different cultures and what not. And there's just as many dumb europeans that come over to america and we look at them like they have three heads when they walk out on the beach with a speed-o on or drive on the wrong side of the road. |

Recently I was surprised in a positive way because there's been presidential elections in France and a simple postman made 5% of the votes (everybody votes for the president you know, it's called democracy), he didn't have any power previously but he had ideas, 5% is a good score, that's just impossible in your country and this is sad, french politics are fucked up too most of the time (and we had some problems with a racist candidate), and I haven't got any patriot feeling but it feels good to feel humanity in some politics times to times, instead of demagogy. Well that was just the opinion of an european boy, wadyathink about it ? |

however, if its cool with everybody i would like to say one last thing about this subject, just to come to an end. this is what i learned from my foreign exchange year: the place where you live is just what you make out of it. example: when i lived in texas with the mormon idiots i hated america and thought it was the worst place in the world, i wanted nothing but to get out. now im in california, i changed my attitute, i go out, go to the beach, to shows, and its great but it is still the SAME country. the place where you live doesnt really matter its just your attitute and if you try to get most out of it or not. um im feeling like a fag who tries to sound smart now. whatever, thats kinda what i realized ok. and now please let this thread die, i dont really like the title of it for some reason hehe. |
